Join the Grand Union Canal Walk at Westminster and follow it to Little Venice to admire the houseboats.

During the summer months there's no better way to cool off then at one of the city's outdoor swimming pools. Art Deco Tooting Bec Lido in South London is one of the largest outdoor pools in Europe. Parliament Hill Lido on the edge of Hampstead Heath is open from May-September and is a great place for kids and adults. The Waterfront Leisure Centre in Woolwich has water toys for toddlers, a five-lane slide, wave machine, rapids and a waterfall.
